These Terms govern the use of the location-based features of the TempleRoservice provided by Adriven Co., Ltd.(the “Company”). The Company complies with the Korean Act on the Protection, Use, Etc. of Location Information (the “Location Information Act”) and collects and uses users’ location information in accordance with these Terms.
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms define the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the Company and the personal location information subjects (“Users”) in connection with the location-based services provided by the Company.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- “Location Information”: Information about the place where an object or individual is or was at a specific time.
- “Personal Location Information”: Location information that identifies a specific individual (including information that can identify someone when combined with other data).
- “Personal Location Information Subject”: An individual identified by personal location information.
- “Location-Based Service”: Service provided using location information.
Article 3 (Effect and Modification)
- These Terms take effect upon posting in the Service.
- The Company may modify these Terms within the bounds of applicable law.
- Modifications are announced at least 7 days prior (30 days for materially adverse changes).
Article 4 (Location-Based Services Provided)
With the user’s consent, the Company provides:
- Temple visit check-in: Compares the user’s current location with a temple (within 500m) to verify the visit and award a stamp.
- Nearby temple recommendations: Sorts and displays temples by distance from the user’s current location.
- Map-based exploration: Shows the user’s current location and nearby temples on a map.
Article 5 (Collection Method and Purpose)
- The Company collects personal location information only after obtaining consent via the browser’s Geolocation API.
- Collected personal location information is used solely for the purposes specified in Article 4.
- The Company does not use personal location information for any other purpose.
Article 6 (Retention Period)
- Check-in coordinates: After calculating the distance for visit verification, coordinates are stored with the check-in record and destroyed upon account withdrawal.
- Location information usage records: Automatically retained for 6 months pursuant to Article 16 of the Location Information Act, then destroyed.
- Real-time coordinates (after check-in): Not stored; destroyed immediately after use.
Article 7 (Provision to Third Parties)
The Company does not provide personal location information to third parties without the user’s consent. Currently, no such provision occurs. If needed, the Company will notify users in advance and obtain separate consent.
Article 8 (Rights of Data Subjects)
Users may:
- Withdraw consent to collection, use, or provision (in whole or in part)
- Request temporary suspension of collection, use, or provision at any time
- Request access, notification, and correction of errors in personal location information and its usage records
Rights may be exercised by disabling location sharing in the browser, through My Page settings, or by contacting us at [email protected]. The Company will respond without delay.
Article 9 (Protection of Children under 8 and Similar Subjects)
- This Service is available only to users aged 14 or older, so direct use by children under 8 is not possible.
- However, a legal guardian of the following (“Child under 8 et al.”) may consent on their behalf for life or safety protection purposes:
- A child under 8 years of age
- A person under adult guardianship
- Certain persons with disabilities under the Act on Welfare of Persons with Disabilities
- The Company verifies the guardian’s identity via written document, phone, or email.
- Guardians may exercise the rights in Article 8 on behalf of the subject.
Article 10 (Damages)
If a user suffers damages due to the Company’s violation of these Terms or the Location Information Act, the user may claim damages. The Company is liable unless it proves absence of intent or negligence.
Article 11 (Dispute Resolution and Limitations)
- If disputes cannot be resolved between the parties, users may apply to the Korea Communications Commission for adjudication or to the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee for mediation.
- The Company is not liable for disclosure caused by force majeure or the user’s own fault.
