Cheongsong Daejeonsa Temple, founded by Great Master Uisang in the 12th year of King Munmu of Silla (672), originated from the name of Daejeondogun, King Juwang's son, in the legend of King Juwang. Originally a very large temple, a significant portion was lost due to several fires. Currently, centered around Bogwangjeon Hall, there are Gwaneumjeon Hall, Myeongbujeon Hall, Eungjinjeon Hall, Sanryeonggak Shrine, monastic living quarters, etc., and the foundation stones exposed in various parts of the temple grounds allow us to infer the scale of the old temple. The affiliated hermitages of Daejeonsa Temple include Baekryeonam Hermitage and Juwangam Hermitage. Bogwangjeon Hall, which was burnt down during the Japanese invasions of Korea (Imjin Waeran), was rebuilt in the 13th year of King Hyeonjong of Joseon (1672), and since 1995, Myeongbujeon Hall, Sanryeonggak Shrine, Tamjindang Hall, etc., have been relocated and newly constructed, leading to its current state.
