Boheungsa Temple is a subordinate temple of Geumsansa Temple, located below the southern side of Gwangdaebong Peak in Gangjeong-ri, Maryeong-myeon, Jinan-gun. It was founded during the Silla period and was called Gwangdeoksa, undergoing a reconstruction in 1448. Later, after it had fallen into ruins, a devotee named Min newly built the main hall and Sansingak in 1914 and named it Buksu-sa. However, during a subsequent renovation, a ridge beam inscription was discovered from the 1448 reconstruction, and based on that record, it was renamed Boheungsa. Buildings within the temple complex include Daeungjeon, Samseonggak, and Yosachae. The Daeungjeon is a building with five bays on the front and two bays on the sides. Within the temple grounds stands the Gangjeong-ri Five-story Stone Pagoda, which, judging by its overall style, is presumed to be a work from the mid-Goryeo period. At the temple entrance are Yongso, a pool intertwined with a legend of a dragon ascending to heaven, and Yuktangpokpo Waterfall. Behind the temple are a medicinal spring said to be good for skin diseases and Imyeongcheon, a spring believed to improve hearing.
