The Naesosa Fir Tree Forest Path refers to the forest path that extends from Naesosa’s Iljumun (One Pillar Gate) to Sacheonwangmun (Gate of the Four Heavenly Kings). It is said that it was created about 150 years ago, during the restoration of the temple that had been damaged during the Imjin War, to add vitality to the desolate temple entrance, and it has now reached its current state. It is a refreshing walking path where over 700 fir trees soar high into the sky, listed among 'Korea's 100 Most Beautiful Roads', and a place that boasts such a splendid appearance that it was selected as 'A Forest Path to Share' at the 7th Beautiful Forest National Competition and received an excellence award. Because it is a shaded walking path, it is perfect for leisurely strolls with children, partners, and family, and also great for light hiking or taking photos. It is said that Naesosa was designated as one of the 'Top 5 Temples' not for its buildings themselves, but for the harmonious blend it achieves with the surrounding forest, which was cited as its main charm.
