Geumseonsa is a beautiful temple filled with stunning natural surroundings and the fragrant scent of pine. It is located in Gugi-dong, Jongno-gu, directly overlooking Inwangsan Mountain, home to Cheong Wa Dae (the Blue House) and Gyeongbokgung Palace. After passing the Office for the Five Northern Korean Provinces and ascending along the Bibong Course of Bukhansan National Park, you will encounter the Iljumun Gate of Samgaksan Geumseonsa, which serves as the first gateway. Among the temple's halls, beyond the Panyajeon Hall where dharma ceremonies are held, a pine tree over 200 years old stands in the center. Ascending 108 steps past this pine tree, the Daejeokgwangjeon Hall, where Geumseonsa's main Buddha is enshrined, stands majestically at the temple's most central and highest point. To the right is the Samseonggak Hall, and the Hongyegyo Bridge, where pristine waters from Bukhansan Mountain collect and flow, is situated.
