Sajasa Temple is a temple site located near the peak of Mireuksan Mountain in Iksan-si, Jeollabuk-do. Mireuksa Temple was founded following an incident where King Mu of Baekje and Princess Seonhwa witnessed the Maitreya Triad during their journey, giving Sajasa Temple significant meaning in Baekje Buddhist history. In 1993, an excavation confirmed this as the site of Sajasa Temple with the discovery of roof tiles inscribed with 'Jichi 2nd year Sajasa'. Remains from the Goryeo and Joseon dynasties, along with Unified Silla pottery, Baekje roof tiles, Buncheong ware, celadon, and white porcelain, were discovered at the ruins, indicating the coexistence of traces from various eras. Currently, a main Buddha hall (Daeungjeon), monks' living quarters (Yosachae), and one stone pagoda remain. After the excavation, the Daeungjeon was restored in a slightly expanded form on the site of the former main hall.
