Cheongansa

Cheongan Temple was founded in 1960 and then rebuilt in 2009 due to redevelopment. The temple houses a pagoda containing the true sarira of Buddha, and it also has numerous other steles and pagodas, including a stupa for the founding monk and a memorial monument for Ms. Yook Young-soo. Upon its new construction, it received the 2011 Korea Hanok Award of the Year from the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. Bukhansan Mountain and its surrounding trail are right next to it, providing fresh air and opportunities for hiking.
