This temple, located at the foot of Mt. Dobisan on the west coast, is an ancient temple nearly 1,500 years old, founded by Uisang Daesa in 677 (the 17th year of King Munmu of Silla). Later, Muhak Daesa rebuilt it, and in 1984, it was designated as Cultural Heritage Material by Chungcheongnam-do Province. Here, there are buildings such as Geuknakjeon, Yosachae, Singeomdang, and Anyangnu. Among the Buddhist statues, Amitabha Buddha is enshrined as the main Buddha, along with 8 other statues including Gwanseum-bosal (Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva), Daeseji-bosal (Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva), and Jijang-bosal (Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva). The beautiful scenery around the temple attracts many tourists. It also operates a Templestay program where visitors can directly experience temple life. Mt. Dobisan, where this temple is located, is not high with an elevation of 352.8m at its peak, but it stands alone majestically on the west coast, offering excellent views of the surroundings, and the sunset over the West Sea is particularly spectacular. It is also a stop on the Dobimaru-gil section of the Seosan Aramegil trail, making it a good idea to visit in conjunction with the trail. In addition, nearby attractions include Ganwol Lake, Cheonsu Bay (a wintering ground for migratory birds), and Seosan Bird Land.
