Jeongsu-sa is a Buddhist temple located in the valley of Manduksan Mountain (765.5m), approximately a 15-minute drive from the Sangwan-myeon county seat and the Sangwan IC. The name Jeongsu-sa symbolically represents it as a pure and clean practice ground. As such, the temple is closely associated with the clean and beautiful natural environment of the Noryeong Mountain Range. It is said to have been founded by Great Monk Doseon in 889 (the 2nd year of King Jinseong of Silla), making it a suitable location for a temple. Afterwards, it was rebuilt in 1581 (the 14th year of King Seonjo) during the Joseon Dynasty, but not long after, it was burned down during the Imjin War and then rebuilt again. Currently, it consists of two stupas, monks' living quarters, Gwaneumjeon (Hall of Avalokiteshvara) which also serves as the temple office, Samseonggak (Hall of Three Sages), Geungnakjeon (Hall of Paradise), Jijangjeon (Hall of Ksitigarbha), and Beomjonggak (Bell Pavilion). Within the temple grounds, a Wooden Amitabha Buddha Triad, designated as a Treasure, is preserved. In the vicinity, besides Manduksan Mountain, there is also Sangwan Reservoir, among others, allowing for linked sightseeing tours.
