Seonghwasa Temple (聖華寺) is a Buddhist temple located in Seongdang-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu Metropolitan City, and is a branch temple (末寺) of Haeinsa Temple, the head temple of the 12th district of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. It was founded in July 1978 by its founder, Bodhisattva Jeon Bok-jo, with the purpose of "purifying citizens' minds through Buddhist propagation." Subsequently, it was expanded to its current form by Ven. Jingak in 1994. This temple is known to pursue spiritual purification and physical training through Tai Chi. As its founding date is relatively recent, the appearance of the temple grounds and its architectural style are modern, featuring a three-story concrete building. It diligently practices in the city center (Seongdang-dong) and in daily life (including compassionate sharing with neighbors in need).
