Templo is a mobile-first platform cataloging 1,073 active Korean Buddhist temples. Users discover temples on a map, check in when they visit, and complete curated pilgrimages such as the 33 Gwaneum Sacred Sites.
Data is aggregated from the Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea, the Korea Tourism Organization (TourAPI), official temple websites and social channels, Wikipedia, and other public sources. Users can report corrections via the feedback button on each temple page.
Check-in unlocks when your GPS location is within a configured radius of the temple. Each check-in adds a stamp to your collection and contributes to mission progress. GPS verification ensures data integrity.
Templo curates authentic Korean pilgrimages: the 33 Gwaneum Sacred Sites, conquest of the 8 Provinces' famous temples, the Yeongnam Alps temple route, and others. Completing a mission grants a certified badge.
All features are free during the beta period. Core features will remain free after the official launch.
Templo supports 7 languages: Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, and Spanish. Change the language from the settings icon in the top-right corner.
